Point of Sale and Inventory System - VB 6 Version

Free Point of Sale (POS) and Inventory System.

A must have features:

Barcode support
Point of Sales
Place an order (sales order or purchase order)
Receive or deliver an order by batch
Support for returning of orders
Product inventory according to unit of measures
Run the source code to appreciate the program

Note: Automatic numbering of barcode (field) is used to simulate barcoding system. Just used the correct barcode of the product if you want to use the barcoding system.

Download POS and Inventory System v1.0 Installer here.

Note: You need crystal reports 8.5 to run the source code. If you don't have crystal reports you can still open the source code without problem with the ocx by installing the Installer above.

As you may already know, VB 6 is not already supported by Windows 10. So if you have this version, it's better to run a virtual machine like VMWare and install Windows XP to avoid any problem.

Note: Due to the size or complexity of this submission, the author has submitted it as a .zip file to shorten your download time. After downloading it, you will need a program like Winzip to decompress it.

Virus note: All files are scanned once-a-day by SourceCodester.com for viruses, but new viruses come out every day, so no prevention program can catch 100% of them.

FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, PLEASE:

1. Re-scan downloaded files using your personal virus checker before using it.

You need crystal reports 8.5 to change the header. Actually it is programmable but I don't have time to edit it now.

Crystal reports 8.5 was owned by seagate software, inc. before but it was already bought by crystal decisions.

I don't know if it is still available today. I suggest to take a look at ebay.

You need crystal reports 8.5 in order to change the company info in the barcode report.

Barcode Scanner support

Please those the POS Software support barcode scanners? if yes, what scanner hardwares did it support? if not how can i integrate barcode scanner support?

Also how can i make it into a distributed application?

Yes it supports a barcode scanner. And you can use any barcode scanner. A barcode scanner works like a keyboard except when you point a barcode scanner to the barcode in a product it simply reads the line and convert it to numbers then paste to your program.

Error Report "Stock Card"

Dear admin,

My Comp have cristal report 8.5 but when i click report "stock card", i getting error and the message "ODBC Error ....Undefined function 'DSum' in expression" and then "Error detected by database DLL"

i getting this error only in "stock card" report.

Please help me to solve this problem.

You can only run this report in compiled code. This is an issue with vb 6.0 that cannot run the report with DSUM function.

Compile the program first before opening this report.

i getting error in periodic charge sales report item is double becouse many transaction in cash order menu.

and if i finish order in cash order menu so i click/press (F11) but i get blank document in report.

May be you are trying to click the NEW Button at the toolbar which I forgot to remove in my code. Return Items are triggered from their respectively delivery order.

Currently Cash Sales is not accepting any returns. So please disregard that menu.

but in the "Periodic Cash Sales" report, i don't can see daily cash sales report, example: report from feb 20,2009 to feb 20,2009 it's blank document and if i choose from feb 19,2009 to feb 20,2009 I can see that report but it's not informative cause I see 4 (four) transaction on this report whereas only 2 (two) transaction in the cash seles menu. Porting ms access to sql server is very easy. May be you mean you want to open this program using sql server. You cannot do this easily since you need to modify every code that connect to the database.

As there is no other username and password besides the one I have instructed here I cannot really determine what's the problem.

i found problem

it is regional setings problem.

i am living in Lithuania. So computer standarts and formats Lithuania.

I change it in English UK and working.

So i think this is small bug at code.

If you can fix it please.

Nice. At least we found the problem. I'm thinking of it also before but not 100% sure about regional settings.

As of now I don't know how to fix this. What is the language you used in regional settings before you know the problem?

Dear Admin, I am using installshield 2008 and using setup factory 8 to package this project and success, but when I am installing that setup in another computer I got error in the report with message "cannot create object..... ActiveX_componet... bla bla bla" how to solve my problem? Thank you.

Why you are using installshield and setup factory at the sime time?

For the error messages be sure to run the project dynamically using installshield.
