This a sample how to send SMS using AT Commands like in Hyper Terminal via GSM Modem or compatible GSm phone attatched to the PC Comport or USB port..

For this sample i used Huawei E160 GSM/HSDPA/GPRS modem..

demonstrate how to use MSComm Control in VB6 in order to send data to the GSM Modem

TODO:

this code may not work with other modem so better check your modem's specs and manual

check your modem's settings (baud Rate,RtsHold,HandShake, etc .and comport number in order to run this project..

Sir, we are doing project called college sms help center. the features are : student should send sms using some key words already mentioned and student should reply the in formation wanted...this should be done automatically. can i do this by connecting mobile phones to pc? or should i get gsm modem? plz send me the list of mobile phones and gsm modems which support AT commands? hope they are not costly..can i use nokia 1600 for this purpose?

Sir' I was creating a project of embedded system.. i was using sensor detector and a gsm module i also use pic16847a as my micro controller.. i just want to ask if u have some sort of program that would help me for guide to complete my whole project. example...when the signal of the sensor change from 0 to 1.. it automatically send a sms... urgent. thank you very much YVONNE=)

am doing a college project. this program has been done in PHP and Mysql as database. am using huwei gsm modem to communicate with the data base. i need help on how i can link Msql database to the sms application so that i can send an sms to the pc and get a response on the phone. please help. best regards. Hi Emond, Very impressive and easy way of coding. Ur post helped me a lot. Right now i'm able to send and receive SMS using a GSM Modem. I'm now looking on to how I can send and Receive MMS using a GSM Modem. I'm currently doing my final year engg. I'm looking to incorporate the MMS Sending module into my project. Hi, Can anybody please explain me how to differtiate between received SMS's, i.e. whether the sms is a single unit small sms or a part of a long sms. Both time i am getting the same +CMTI: response. Is there any other method to differentiate between the two. Thanks in advance.

Incase you are just wondering how to receive message and send messages using Nokia and vb 6.0 Just know that you only require Nokia 2330c a bluetooth radio and Nokia pc Suite Software. Now we will open a new project in vb 6.0 and add Nokia libraries after connectiong our phone to the computer. The Nokia dll library enables one to send and receive Messages using Nokia and Vb 6.0 without using Hyperterminal, AT Commands or Thirdparty softwares.
