Good news for all. Microsoft has released an update for the Surface Pro 3.
The purpose of this updates is to fix the issues preventing some units from holding a full battery charge.
Microsoft comes up with a new and innovative way of preventing some units from holding a full battery charge.
According to a report, the Microsoft equates the issue to a broken fuel gauge in a car. "If the fuel gauge isn’t working right, the car would also not be able to fill the tank — even though the tank is fine," Microsoft writes.
The Microsoft released new updates that aimed at fixing the battery life issues that recently came to light.
The Microsoft explained that the owners of the Surface Pro 3 owners find that their battery can no longer hold a charge, and it looks like the battery capacity has diminished.
Furthermore, "With the power plugged in, the Surface Pro 3 is fine, but the battery will run out quickly once it’s not being charged. On a limited number of Surface Pro 3 devices, an error condition occurs that causes the full charge capacity of the battery to be misreported to the operating system and device firmware. When this condition occurs, the system no longer charges the battery to its full actual capacity, and the Surface is unable to function on battery power.” Microsoft added.
It will fix the issues but the changes may not take effect immediately, however. Microsoft says the issue will "self-correct over the next several charge and discharge cycles," so you may have to run the battery down a few times before it recognizes full charge again.
Microsoft identified the problem. Microsoft revealed that there are certain units have been failing properly measure their full battery capacity, preventing them for receiving a full charge.
Microsoft takes an action to fix the issue after the past few months, with Surface Pro 3 owners reporting that their machines couldn’t stay charged for more than an hour.
Microsoft announced that the actual batteries inside these Surface units are perfectly fine and should begin to function properly after the update is installed.
Microsoft issued a new firmware update for Surface Pro 3 to fix batteries issue.
According to some information, regarding with the issue, there’s no official word yet from Microsoft.
