Gaofen 3: China Newly Launched Satellite

China recently launched its satellite to protect their maritime rights and interests.
According to a report, A Long March 4C rocket lifted off from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center at 6:55 p.m. Eastern time and placed the Gaofen-3 satellite into orbit.
The satellite carries a synthetic aperture radar payload that can produce images with a resolution of one meter.
The Official China Daily Newspaper confirmed the news on Thursday. According to the report, the satellite is equipped with a radar system that captures the images from space with a resolution down to one meter and can operate in all weathers.
The satellite was named as Gaofen 3 of China. State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry announced the launching of the satellite that will help the China to protect its country.
The Gaofen 3 was launched, as Manila and Tokyo urged Beijing to respect the maritime law and security, the rule of law, to resolve and peacefully settle the disputes in the South China Sea.
The Project leader, Xu Fuxiang, confirmed that the satellite will be used for civil applications, including the environmental monitoring and disaster warning.
Furthermore, the satellite is responsible for the monitoring of the maritime environment, island and reefs and ship and oil rigs.
According to a report, the rocket, launched from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center’s LC9 Launch Complex at 22:55 UTC, successfully orbited the new addition to the Gaofen fleet of remote sensing satellites.
The satellite was designed by CAST (China Academy of Space Technology), Gaofen-3 employs the CS-L3000B bus configured with multi-polarized C-band SAR at meter-level resolution.
The new satellite has a designed lifespan of eight years and will mainly be used by the State Oceanic Administration (SOA) of China.
