Mercurial 2.8 Released

Mercurial has released its scheduled update version in the market. The latest version is Mercurial 2.8 and it contains a lot of new features. Core Features Hgweb: add revset syntax support to search features has been added in new version along with “hgweb: always run search when a query is entered (BC). Another improved core feature is; hgweb (paper theme): add infinite scrolling to graph. “proxy: allow wildcards in the no proxy list” is one of the most important core issues added in Mercurial 2.8. The pull feature, pull: for pull – update with failed update, print hint if any feature is added along with rebase: preserve working directory parent (BC). Extension Features Some improvements have been made to Extensions Features as well. Some of the core changes include; convert-internals: introduce hg.revs to replace hg.startrev and –rev with revset. Additional feature is; convert-internals: update source shamap when using filemap, just as when not using filemap. Factotum: clean up keychain for multiple hg repository authentication features has also been added to the Mercurial 2.8 release as well. Mq: extract strip function as its standalone extension is added as extension feature combined with mq: look for modified subrepos when checking for local changes. Rebase: remove balifchanged check from pullrebase (BC) extension feature is also included in the package as well. Bug Fixes The previous version contained many bugs which have been fixed in the latest release. Some of the common bug fixes are described below; Pager: honour internal aliases bug has been fixed. “Patch: ensure valid git diffs if source/ destination file is missing” bug has been fixed. Another fixed bug is “patch: Fix nullid for binary git diffs along with progress: stop getting stuck in a nested topic during a long inner step.
