For a long time, the talks of teaching computer programming in all K-12 schools were making rounds on the internet. However it seems that the talks are now converting into action plans as the Tech Gurus in Silicon Valley like Mark Zuckerberg have announced that they will collaborate fully in the efforts by providing information and funds too. The project will be carried out with the help of code.org team and it will ensure that a new breed of programmers is ready to start their career in this boosting industry.
The names who have confirmed their contribution towards this effort include Bill Gates of Microsoft, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Susan Wojciciki of Google Reid Hoffman of LinkedIn, Jack Dorsey of Square etc. There are a lot of companies who have agreed to fund the project in collaboration with code.org and it is definitely a good step towards future.
Hadi Partovi who is an angle investor in this project said, “It is really amazing that we have been able to collect such groups to collaborate with us”. He was expressing his views at San Francisco News Conference. “The support we have received from Tech Industry is tremendous” he added.
There is no information about how much money was collected by Code.org from its benefactors and donors so far. With the help of this program, more than 10 million students will get a chance to learn about computer programming. Exposing so many students to this field will result in enormous achievements. New brains will be available in the market to try new ideas and entertain the public as well. It must be mentioned here that IT industry has become one of the most flourishing and well paid industry in United States. Not only in United States but in all other countries of the world, IT Industry is becoming popular day by day.
