How to Display Output using Java

Submitted by GeePee on
In this tutorial, you will learn the basic elements and concepts of Java Programming language to create a Java Program. You will know the effect of an output statement in this program. I will be using the JCreator IDE in developing the program. To start in this tutorial, first open the JCreator IDE, click new and paste the following code.

Writing Output to a Text File in Java

Many times it is important to write output to a file to be saved. This is commonplace in just about every kind of Java application - from business to games. It allows the users information/status/progress to be saved or recorded for future reference. In order for this to work, the simplest solution is to create a file in the same folder as the Java program. For this example, we are going to create an output file called output.txt.

Converting Temperatures in Java

Submitted by GeePee on
This tutorial covers creating a calculator to convert between Celsius (centigrade), Kelvin, and Fahrenheit. The user is first given the choice of which temperature unit they would like to convert from, and then they are given the results of the conversion. When different units are in use, things can get confusing. It is useful to have a calculator on hand for this sort of thing. Luckily, we can make one in Java that is able to do just that.

Two Dimensional Arrays in Java

Previously, we covered how to use arrays in Java. If you are unfamiliar with arrays, please read through the first tutorial on arrays here. Two dimensional arrays are used to hold numbers that correspond to one another. One dimensional arrays can be thought of as a collection of variables listed in an indefinite number of rows, but a single column. Two dimensional arrays allow for both indefinite rows and columns.

Math Quiz in Java

Submitted by GeePee on
Often times, computer programs are used as a study method by educators. In this program, many of the concepts we have gone over thus far are put together to make a working quiz that asks math questions, and returns results on how the user did. For this program, the user is asked how many math questions they would like. It generates random math questions with numbers 1 through 10, and randomly selects between addition, subtraction, multiplication. and division. If the user is right, it will tell them so.

While Loops in Java

Submitted by GeePee on
There are cases in which a developer may want a program to repeat a certain function for a finite number of times. While loops allow the programmer to make a function repeat until certain conditions are met. There are two common intended uses for loops. The first is to keep repeating a set of code until the user satisfies the criteria to exit the loop.
